More than 23, 000 residents of Calbayog City are set to benefit from the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) on November 22 and 23, offering a wide range of government services in one accessible venue.

Mayor Raymund Uy announced on Tuesday that around 2, 000 representatives from 48 national government agencies will be present at the event, held in partnership with Tingog Partylist and local offices. The service caravan will take place across multiple venues, including the Northwest Samar State University, Christ the King College, and the Calbayog City Convention Center.

Participating agencies include the Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, Philippine Statistics Authority, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and more. The event aims to address residents’ needs with services spanning healthcare, education, trade, and environmental concerns.

One highlighted initiative is the Integrated Scholarship and Incentives Program, providing financial assistance to college students in private schools through the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Uy emphasized that this program prioritizes private school students, as those in state universities already benefit from free tuition.

“This assistance reflects the commitment of Speaker Martin Romualdez and the Marcos administration to support students and their families,” Uy said.

Vice Mayor Rex Daguman urged residents to prepare for possible traffic congestion as thousands are expected to converge on the city proper. He also encouraged business owners to extend their operating hours, citing the nighttime activities and concerts scheduled for the event.

Performers at the November 23 concert along the Calbayog coastal road include Bamboo, Marlo Mortel, Iyah Mina, Makki Lucino, and the Viva Hot Babes, adding a festive atmosphere to the service fair.

Originally planned for November 16 and 17, the BPSF was postponed due to the threat of Super Typhoon Pepito. More than 100 members of the House of Representatives from various legislative districts and party-list groups are also expected to attend, highlighting the event’s national significance.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair promises not just immediate support but also a platform for fostering stronger connections between residents and government services.
