The town of Mapandan successfully held its Farmers Festival on Monday, March 16, as part of the annual Pandan Festival, honoring the vital role of farmers in the town’s development.

Mayor Carl Christian Vega thanked Conrado Estrella III, Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform, for attending the event and meeting with local officials to discuss programs aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector.

Vega emphasized that farmers play a key role in Mapandan, serving as the main producers of corn and rice. He added that the local government continues to provide livelihood programs to support them.

Among the festival highlights were traditional activities such as catching piglets and chickens, reflecting long-standing farming customs in the community.

Estrella also announced plans to expand medical assistance for residents in need.

The mayor invited the public to join the Pandan Festival, which also features a street dancing competition with participants from Pangasinan and nearby provinces.
