Farmer drowns in river in Boac, Marinduque

A 33-year-old farmer drowned while crossing a river with his child in Boac, Marinduque, on November 4, authorities reported.

The victim, identified as Arman Lara, was swept away by strong currents in Barangay Balimbing. Bystanders managed to rescue his child, but Lara’s body was later found downstream.

Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and they have warned residents to avoid crossing rivers during periods of high water flow, especially in areas vulnerable to flooding.
