Eight-year-old boy electrocuted while playing in Quezon

By Matthew Go

An eight-year-old boy was killed after being electrocuted while playing near a live electrical wire in Atimonan, Quezon, on November 4.

The child, identified as Athan, reportedly touched a wire that may have been exposed due to recent storm damage. Bystanders rushed him to a local hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging electricity providers to inspect vulnerable wiring in residential areas. Officials hope the tragedy will underscore the need for stronger safety measures in public spaces frequented by children.
