The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) convened local chief executives (LCEs) and other stakeholders to gather insights on improving the implementation of the Kapitbisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program.
KALAHI-CIDSS Deputy National Program Manager for Support Didith Bosoen emphasized the importance of LCE support in integrating the program into local development plans. She noted that the program’s largest funding portfolio is nearing completion and the transition to the 2025 Panahon ng Pagkilos (community resilience) initiative is underway.
DSWD Western Visayas Director Arwin Razo highlighted the significance of LCEs in ensuring the success of the program. He stressed the need for local counterpart contributions to establish ownership and accelerate implementation.
KALAHI-CIDSS, a community-driven poverty alleviation program, has successfully completed 91, 385 sub-projects in 25, 479 barangays across 82 provinces, benefiting over 24 million households.
As the program transitions to Panahon ng Pagkilos, the focus will shift towards building community resilience, particularly in vulnerable municipalities.
