DSWD extends P7.9M in assistance to Typhoon-affected Ilocos Norte families

By Michelle Ducut

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided PHP7.9 million in cash aid to 1, 555 families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in Ilocos Norte under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. The relief effort comes after a series of devastating typhoons that hit Northern Luzon in recent months.

The DSWD’s AICS program is part of the government’s broader social safety net initiative, aimed at assisting disaster-affected communities in times of crisis. The financial support is intended to help families rebuild and recover from the economic impact of natural disasters, a regular occurrence in the typhoon-prone region of Northern Luzon.
