The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) awarded its STARBOOK digital library to 10 public schools under the Schools Division Office of Dagupan City during the opening of the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) at CSI Stadia on February 18, hosted by the Dagupan City government,
DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. led the turnover of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk (STARBOOK), a digital library that provides offline access to thousands of science and technology resources, including e-books, journals, and research modules.
Recipients include Bonuan Boquig National High School, Malued Elementary School, East Central Integrated School, West Central Elementary School I, Carael Elementary School, Salisay Elementary School, North Central Elementary School, Carael National High School, T. Ayson Elementary School, and Judge Jose De Venecia Technical Vocational School.
STARBOOK enables students and teachers to access learning materials even without internet connectivity, strengthening research capability, digital literacy, and innovation-driven instruction—particularly in schools with limited online access.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Vice Mayor Brian Kua, Schools Division Superintendent Rowena C. Banzon, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Anna Liza M. Chan, and school heads formally accepted the units, underscoring the city’s push to deepen STEM engagement.
The 2026 RSTW, themed “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” highlights efforts to build smart and sustainable communities under the banner “Agham na Ramdam.”
