The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has allocated nearly PHP 500 million to assist over 144, 000 workers affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Pepito in the Bicol Region.

DOLE-Bicol Director Imelda Gatinao stated that the funds will be used to cover wages for affected workers and provide emergency employment through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

The program aims to provide immediate relief and support to displaced workers by offering short-term employment opportunities in community-based activities, such as cleanup drives and disaster rehabilitation.

Additionally, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 has extended relief assistance to 295 personnel affected by Super Typhoon Pepito in Catanduanes. The agency distributed essential supplies, including drinking water, rice, and grocery packs, to affected police officers and their families.
