By Michelle Ducut

The Department of Health in Bicol (DOH-5) has allocated PHP1 million in initial aid to the province of Catanduanes, which was severely affected by Super Typhoon Pepito last weekend.

The assistance package includes medicines, hygiene kits, water containers, and other essential supplies. DOH-5 Regional Director Rodolfo Antonio Albornoz assured Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua that the health agency is committed to providing necessary medical and health services to the affected population.

In addition to the immediate relief efforts, DOH-5 has also allocated PHP2 million for the rehabilitation of health facilities damaged by the typhoon. The agency continues to monitor the situation in Catanduanes and is ready to provide further support as needed.
