MANILA – The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Monday said the national housing program transforms communities into resilient and sustainable living spaces.
A week-long fair is part of the celebration of the National Shelter Month with the theme, “Matibay na Tahanan, Matatag na Komunidad Para sa Bagong Pilipinas”.
“Sa ilalim ng mga programang ito, isusulong natin ang mga ‘Pamayanang Bago para sa Bagong Mamamayan’ na may malasakit sa kapwa, sa kapaligiran at sa bayan (Under these programs, we will push for ‘New Communities for New Citizens’ who care for their fellowmen, surroundings, and the nation),” DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said.
Through the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the PLANADO (Plan & Do) Program and the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM) project, the DHSUD ensures collaboration between the public and private sectors to “further propel vibrancy in the housing and real estate industry.”
The housing fair offers services from DHSUD’s key shelter agencies such as the Social Housing Finance Corporation, National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation, National Housing Authority, Human Settlements Adjudication Commission and the Pag-IBIG Fund.
Some private companies are also showcasing their projects during the housing fair.
The fair’s opening coincides with the observance of the World Habitat Day celebrated annually every first Monday of October. (PNA)
