Davao City allocates P17.7 million to Typhoon Kristine affected areas

The Davao City Council approved the P17.7 million financial assistance to the local government units in areas hit by Typhoon Kristine.

The 19 municipalities, 10 cities, and seven provinces that declared a state of calamity are the beneficiaries of the financial aid.

Based on what’s prescribed in the Local Finance Committee Resolution 2020-01, provinces will receive P1 million, cities P500, 000, and municipalities P300, 000.

The provinces that will receive P1 million are Albay, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Eastern Samar, and Quezon.

The cities recipients are Batangas and Tanauan, Batangas; Calaca, Sto. Tomas; Naga, Naga; Calbayog, Samar; Dagupan, Pangasinan; and Calamba, San Pedro, and Biñan, Laguna.

The municipalities that will receive P300,000 are Laurel, San Pascual, Lian, Lemery, Agoncillo, Ibaan, and Cuenca in Batangas; Mercedes in Camarines Norte; Los Baños in Laguna; Bulan in Sorsogon; San Fernando in Masbate; Virac in Catanduanes; Sariaya, Mulanay, Tagkawayan and General Luna in Quezon; Magpet in Cotabato; Irosin and Bulan in Sorsogon; and Sta. Cruz in Laguna.

It is not the first time that the City Government of Davao has extended financial assistance to calamity-stricken areas.
