Dagupan City will tremendously benefit from the program “Sa New Philippines, Every Town will Benefit” recently launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., according to Mayor Belen Fernandez.
Fernandez, along with fellow city mayors, town mayors, and governors attended the launching of the program at Heroes Hall in Malacanang last February 23
She said with the new program, local governments are now included as partners in delivering services to every Filipino.
“My sincere thanks to President Bongbong Marcos Jr. for continuously giving concrete support to LGUs. With the early release of the Local Government Support Fund, we can act faster, better implement projects that our communities need, and the people in these communities will feel the help faster,” Fernandez said.
She said a clear program direction is good for monitoring and accountability, adding that under the new program, there is proper surveillance, transparency, and accountability for every peso released. “This is the kind of governance that gives confidence to local leaders and citizens”, the mayor added.
At the same time, she said the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) Rice Approval Letter, personally awarded to her and other LGU officials by President Marcos, will assure families in need of ten kilos of rice per month for six months per year.
“This is a great deal. As mayor, I am grateful to the national government for strengthening support to us. In the New Philippines, LGUs are being strengthened to bring service closer to every Filipino family.
Also in Malacanang, Fernandez joined in the Memorandum of Agreement signing for the Nationwide Classroom Building Program, along with Education Secretary Sonny Angara.
The MOA signifies the partnership between DepEd and 149 cities across the nation and brings them closer to addressing the classroom gap and delivering safe, decent learning spaces for every Filipino learner.
“These historic meetings mean more classrooms, and more classrooms mean greater opportunities, stronger futures, and better support for every Dagupeno student”, Fernandez said.
