Citadines Bacolod City kicked off the holiday season on November 24, 2024, with the grand lighting of its 20-foot Bugana Christmas Tree, an innovative and environmentally friendly display adorned with live air plants such as Spanish moss and Tillandsia species.

The lighting ceremony, held at the hotel’s atrium, drew local officials, business leaders, hotel guests, and Bacolod residents who marveled at the tree’s unique design. The Bugana Christmas Tree reflects Citadines Bacolod’s commitment to sustainability and the integration of local culture into its celebrations.

“Bugana,” which means “abundance” in Hiligaynon, symbolizes the city’s agricultural and cultural wealth. The tree not only celebrates the festive spirit but also promotes eco-awareness by using renewable and biodegradable materials.

The event marked the beginning of a series of holiday activities organized by the hotel, including Christmas-themed workshops, charity drives, and special holiday promotions for guests.

Citadines Bacolod General Manager Karen De Los Santos emphasized the significance of sustainability in modern hospitality. “Through the Bugana Christmas Tree, we aim to inspire our community to embrace sustainable practices while celebrating the joy of the holiday season,” she said.

The tree will remain on display throughout the holidays, serving as a centerpiece for Bacolod’s festive celebrations and a reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship.
