CIDG seizes firearms cache, arrests suspect in Rizal

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) apprehended a 54-year-old suspect, identified only as “Bong,” during a search operation in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City, Rizal province, on Thursday night.

The operation, conducted under a search warrant issued by a Lucena City court on December 17, targeted illegal possession of firearms.

Seized items included a Colt 5.56mm rifle, two .45 ACP pistols (Thompson and Colt), a Metrillo .40 caliber pistol, a Glock 9mm pistol, two .22 LR rifles, and various magazines and ammunition. Additionally, authorities confiscated two Dillon Precision reloading machines, a compressor, polishing tumblers, and reloading materials.

A local village official witnessed the operation. The suspect and the confiscated items were transported to the CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit for documentation.
