CICAC holds 5th regular meeting at Port of Cagayan de Oro

The Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, led by District Collector Arthur G. Sevilla, Jr., convened its 5th Regular Meeting on November 14, 2024, at the Bureau of Customs Conference Room in Macabalan.

The meeting brought together key industry partners, including Raymundo Talimio, Jr., Chairman of the Board of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc.; Edgar Rey Gallana Jr., President of the Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (Northern Mindanao Chapter); and Atty. Gemma Gloria, Terminal Manager of Mindanao International Terminal Services, Inc., alongside top officials from the Port of Cagayan de Oro.

The discussions focused on the latest customs updates and procedures, with a significant portion dedicated to exploring strategies that could enhance the port’s revenue generation efforts. Additionally, the council deliberated on key developments in Northern Mindanao that are expected to spur further economic growth in the region.

In his remarks, District Collector Sevilla thanked CICAC members for their continued partnership with the Bureau of Customs, highlighting the alignment of their collaborative efforts with Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio’s goal of creating a more responsive customs administration that effectively meets the needs of its stakeholders.
