Police Colonel Antonietto Ybanez Cañete, City Director of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), participated in the Cebu City Justice Zone’s monthly meeting on November 22, 2024. The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the local justice system, including law enforcement, legal professionals, and government representatives, to discuss ongoing efforts to improve public safety and the accessibility of justice in the city.
The Cebu City Justice Zone is an initiative that aims to enhance collaboration between the police, judiciary, prosecutors, and local government units to improve the efficiency of legal processes. At the meeting, PCOL Cañete reiterated his commitment to strengthening cooperation between the police and other government agencies to ensure the swift delivery of justice for Cebu City’s residents.
During the meeting, several important issues were discussed, including updates on new law enforcement strategies, coordination between the police and other agencies, and challenges such as rising crime rates and court case backlogs. PCOL Cañete and other CCPO officials shared updates on the police force’s initiatives and plans for addressing these concerns.
