Cebu province assists 93-1, ABACA residents in Pag-IBIG enrollment

Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia facilitated the enrollment of residents from Capitol-owned 93-1 lots and members of the Alliance of Barangay Apas Community Associations Inc. (ABACA) into the Pag-IBIG Fund to support their housing loan applications. The initiative, held on September 25 at the Capitol Social Hall, aims to enable residents to secure ownership of the lots they currently occupy.

Through Pag-IBIG’s flexible payment terms, these residents can acquire the lots as Pag-IBIG will cover the fair market value upfront on behalf of the homeowners. The 93-1 ordinance encompasses 51 hectares of province-owned land in Cebu City, allowing long-time occupants to own the property after completing their loan payments. The covered lots are in Barangays Busay, Luz, Lahug, Mabolo, Apas, Lorega, Kasambagan, Capitol Site, Tejero, and Kalunasan.

Pag-IBIG Visayas head Paulino Talacay personally assisted with the enrollment process, with Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, NHA Regional Manager Rizalino Cabahug, and DWUP-Cebu City’s Atty. Butch Librando also present to lend support. This collaboration underscores the Capitol’s commitment to helping residents achieve secure homeownership through accessible financing options.
