Cebu City unveils “City Hall in Action” initiative to deliver free services in Barangay Tinago

The Cebu City Government introduced the “City Hall in Action” initiative today in Barangay Tinago, providing crucial government services directly to the community at no charge. This program aims to enhance the accessibility of government services for residents, especially those who might struggle to visit City Hall.

The occasion featured a variety of complimentary services, such as medical and dental check-ups, health-related support, and help with civil documents including birth, marriage, and death certificates. Moreover, residents had the opportunity to receive legal consultations and obtain a residence certificate, along with other administrative assistance.

A notable aspect of the program was the complimentary spaying and neutering of pets, part of the city’s ongoing strategy to manage the local pet population. Free vaccinations, medicines, and vitamins for pets were also available, promoting improved animal health and responsible pet ownership.

Additionally, seeds and plant shoots were distributed to encourage sustainable gardening and farming practices within the community. The Cebu City Government anticipates that this initiative will foster environmental sustainability and equip residents with resources for growing their own food.

The “City Hall in Action” initiative is part of Cebu City’s larger efforts to enhance public service delivery and create a more inclusive governance model. In recent years, the city has been seeking ways to decentralize its services, making sure even the most remote barangays receive attention.

Today’s event in Barangay Tinago is expected to be the first of many, with similar initiatives planned for other barangays throughout Cebu City in the coming months. This program signifies the city’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and addressing their needs in a more effective and accessible way.
