Cebu City Police participate in 4th Peace and Order Council meeting for 2024

On November 28, 2024, PCOL Antonietto Ybañez Cañete, the City Director of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), along with PMAJ Francis Renz L. Talosig, took part in the 4th meeting of the Cebu City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) for the year 2024. The gathering was held in the Mayor’s Conference Room at Cebu City Hall and was led by City Administrator Atty. Kristine Batucan, with the participation of Dr. Neila Aquino, City Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The focus of the CPOC meeting was the ongoing initiatives to uphold peace, security, and public order within the city. PMAJ Talosig shared the Cebu City Peace and Order Situationer Report, summarizing significant accomplishments from October to mid-November 2024, which showcased advancements in law enforcement activities, crime prevention, and public safety measures.

After this presentation, representatives from various member agencies of the CPOC shared updates on their individual roles and contributions toward maintaining peace and order in Cebu City. The conversations also addressed strategies for tackling emerging issues and improving coordination among different law enforcement and governmental bodies.

Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, who attended the meeting, praised the collective commitment of the CPOC members toward enhancing safety in Cebu City.

By 1:00 p.m., the meeting came to a close, with members reaching consensus on several resolutions aimed at further bolstering public safety efforts throughout the city. These resolutions included additional measures to reduce criminal activity, increase community engagement, and enhance the responsiveness of emergency services.

The Cebu City Peace and Order Council, made up of representatives from local government entities, law enforcement, and various organizations, plays a vital role in coordinating efforts to ensure the city’s safety and address community concerns. This meeting represented a significant advancement in continuing to build upon Cebu City’s successful track record of maintaining peace and order.
