On November 12, 2024, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) launched a new National Police Clearance (NPC) Office at the Guadalupe Police Station 9, aimed at improving public service accessibility and fostering community engagement. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Philippine National Police (PNP) to streamline the clearance process and bring essential services closer to local residents.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by PMAJ Miles B. Damoslog, Station Commander of Guadalupe Police Station 9, with PCOL Antonietto Ybañez Cañete, Director of CCPO, in attendance. The event also saw participation from barangay officials, community leaders, and donors who contributed to the project’s realization.
The new NPC office is expected to simplify the process of obtaining police clearances for various purposes, including employment, business licenses, and other official requirements. By providing these services closer to the community, the office aims to reduce the time, cost, and effort previously required for residents to obtain clearances from distant locations.
This initiative is a “response to the growing demand for police clearances in Cebu City, particularly in urban areas like Guadalupe, which is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods.” The establishment of the office is also part of the PNP’s efforts to “improve accessibility to government services and reduce congestion at existing clearance offices.”
Cañete emphasized that the new office will help address the need for efficient and convenient access to police services, making it easier for residents to obtain the necessary documentation for work, travel, and legal matters. The facility is expected to lessen delays and make the clearance process more streamlined for the public.
