As the nation stands on the brink of 2025, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano called for renewed faith and collective action, urging communities and leaders to come together to face challenges and build a brighter future.
“We need renewal, but God does not need renewal. In every change, He’s always perfect,” Cayetano said during the Christmas party of the Alliance of God’s Servant in Taguig, Inc. (AGSTI) on December 30, 2024.
Reflecting on Taguig’s transformation from the struggles of the 1990s, Cayetano painted a vivid picture of a city once plagued by persistent flooding and lackof modern infrastructure.
He attributed its rise to faith-driven leadership and the community’s shared commitment to progress.
“Our lifestyle in Taguig is rooted in choice — we choose work, and we choose God’s work, rather than relying on chance,” he said, emphasizing how moral principles and community welfare have shaped the city into a thriving urban hub.
Cayetano also challenged pastors and faith leaders to embrace their role as beacons of hope and resilience in an increasingly complex world.
“The Lord has given nations gifts. Pero ang itanong po sa atin ngayon, tatanggapin ba natin y’ung hamon na iyon?” he said.
The senator also emphasized their role in fostering unity and resilience and expressed confidence in their ability to inspire positive change.
“One thing that is very clear to me: the Lord will polish, strengthen, and develop our gifts if we use them for Him and the body of Christ,” he said.
Looking ahead, Cayetano stressed the need to align vision with action to ensure future generations inherit a nation rooted in strong moral and spiritual values.
“The Lord will guide us if we remain steadfast and committed to His work,” he said.
“We are stronger when we do it as a body,” he added.
