Catanduanes achieves zero casualties amid Typhoon Pepito’s ravages

Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua has expressed gratitude to residents and local officials for their cooperation and hard work in ensuring zero casualties during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Pepito.

The province was severely impacted by the typhoon, with significant damage to infrastructure and properties. However, thanks to effective preemptive evacuation measures and the resilience of the community, no lives were lost.

Cua commended the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) for its crucial role in coordinating relief efforts and implementing safety protocols. The governor also acknowledged the support of national government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Office of Civil Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine National Police.

While the typhoon caused widespread damage, the provincial government is working diligently to assess the extent of the destruction and implement recovery and rehabilitation plans.
