Police operatives in Capiz Province have arrested one of the province’s most wanted individuals, who is accused of multiple counts of statutory rape. The arrest took place on November 28, 2024, at approximately 3:14 PM in Sitio Guisi, Barangay Cabungahan, Maayon.
The suspect, identified as alias Arjay, a 25-year-old resident of Barangay Cabungahan, Maayon, was apprehended following a coordinated police operation. He is facing three counts of statutory rape, with no bail recommended by the court.
The arrest operation was carried out by the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station (MPS) in collaboration with the Capiz Police Provincial Office, the Intelligence Unit, the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Maayon MPS. The operation was the result of extensive intelligence gathering and cooperation among these units.
The suspect, who had evaded capture for a prolonged period, was located in the remote Sitio Guisi area. Police operatives apprehended him without resistance.
Alias Arjay, listed as the second most wanted person in Capiz Province, is accused of committing offenses that carry severe penalties under Philippine law. Statutory rape cases in the Philippines are treated with utmost seriousness, reflecting the government’s commitment to combat sexual violence and protect minors.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) Director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky commended the efforts of the law enforcement units involved in the operation. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and intelligence-sharing in capturing high-profile fugitives.
The suspect is now in custody at the Capiz Provincial Jail, where he awaits arraignment and further legal proceedings. Law enforcement officials emphasized their continued commitment to tracking down other wanted individuals and ensuring justice for victims of serious crimes.
