Butuan Energy Development Council holds 1st council meeting

The first council meeting of the Butuan Energy Development Council (BEDC) was held at Pavilion Watergate in Butuan City, chaired by Butuan City Vice Mayor Lawrence Fortun and City Councilor Rey Desiata, who serves as the Vice Chairperson of BEDC. The meeting was attended by partner agencies and stakeholders in the energy sector.

During the session, the council presented the draft of the Butuan City Energy Development Plan 2023-2050, outlining the city’s long-term energy goals and strategies. The meeting also covered an action plan for the creation of a Local Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan, which is intended to guide efforts to optimize energy use and promote sustainability across the city.

The City Planning and Development Department of the local government of Butuan acted as the secretariat for the meeting, supporting the organization and coordination of the event.

The discussions are part of Butuan City’s ongoing efforts to advance its energy management and sustainability initiatives, with a focus on planning for a more energy-efficient future.
