The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has summoned 10 bus and public utility vehicle terminal operators in Region 1 due to its findings that they have inadequate and substandard passenger facilities.

LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said show cause orders were issued after surprise inspections conducted by the agency’s Ilocos regional office.

Operators cited in the inspection include terminals located in Alaminos City and Dagupan City in Pangasinan, as well as San Fernando City.

The LTFRB said terminal operators were ordered to explain deficiencies related to passenger amenities and facility conditions.

Authorities added that inspections will continue to ensure compliance with standards intended to provide safe and comfortable travel conditions for commuters.
