Gamalle Lhynn Regala, a 14-year-old eighth grader from Barangay Bogtongbod, Clarin, Bohol, emerged as the regional winner of the 2024 Search for Exemplary Pantawid Pamilya Children in Central Visayas. The competition highlights the achievements of children under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), focusing on their role in fulfilling the program’s educational and health objectives.

Regala triumphed over three other provincial winners: Yasmin Baguio from Lazi, Siquijor (2nd place), Ej Torquido from Dumanjug, Cebu (3rd place), and Sydrick Jhames Tiaga from Basay, Negros Oriental (4th place). She received a plaque of recognition and cash incentives, while the runners-up were awarded certificates and cash prizes.

The competition, organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 7, recognizes exemplary children who excel in their schools, communities, and households while meeting the program’s conditions.

DSWD-7 Director Shalaine Marie Lucero emphasized the inspiring stories of these children, stating, “Their unique stories inspire us to work harder for the betterment of each Filipino child.”

The four regional winners are currently representing Central Visayas in the ongoing National Children’s Congress at WaterWorld Cebu in Mandaue City, which brings together provincial winners from across the country. The event concludes on November 22.
