BJMP Mimaropa marks conclusion of 2025 Women’s Month with Culminating Activity

BATANGAS CITY, Batangas — The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office Mimaropa wrapped up its 2025 National Women’s Month celebration with a One-Day Culminating Activity on March 31, 2025, held at the Ebron Covered Court in Brgy. Gulod Labac, Batangas City. The event was organized by the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS).

The day’s activities featured the “Palaro ng Lahi,” a set of recreational games designed to offer BJMP personnel a well-deserved break, in an event dubbed “Juana-Off.”

Jail Superintendent Mirasol Vitor, assistant regional director for administration, opened the event with a message highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment and leadership. She underscored the event’s goal of encouraging women to take leadership roles, seize opportunities, and realize their full potential in line with gender equality efforts.

The program also included the Awarding Ceremony for winners of various previous GAD activities, including the Spelling Bee, Volleyball, Singing Sister Juana, and Indak Ma’am Juana competitions.

BJMP Mimaropa director Jail Senior Superintendent Clarence Mayangao delivered the closing remarks, urging all personnel to continue their work with dedication and to foster a supportive culture within the Bureau. He further emphasized the event’s role in promoting a workplace where everyone can express themselves freely, and encouraged the promotion of a society built on inclusion, diversity, and active participation.

The event served as a reminder of the BJMP’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering individuals within the organization. | via JO3 Joefrie Anglo, IO-BJMP MIMAROPA
