Bishop calls for road patience, self-control following road rage incident

Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos has urged the public to practice patience and self-control, particularly while on the road. This appeal follows a recent incident on Marcos Highway in Antipolo City.

The incident involved an altercation between a sports utility vehicle driver and motorcycle riders on March 30, during which the driver discharged a firearm, resulting in injuries to four individuals, including his partner. One of the injured motorcycle riders died in a hospital on Monday.

In a pastoral statement, Bishop Santos emphasized the consequences of uncontrolled anger and the importance of practicing kindness and self-control, especially during traffic congestion and daily challenges.

He also encouraged the public to remember religious teachings on patience, understanding, and compassion.

Bishop Santos offered prayers for the recovery of those injured and for justice to prevail.
