Biñan pensioners receive early Christmas cash aid

BIÑAN CITY, Philippines—Over 18,000 pensioners in Biñan City received PHP 3,000 each in cash assistance on Friday, December 20, as part of an early Christmas program from the local government, officials said.

The cash distribution was implemented under the administration of Mayor Arman Dimaguila and followed a city council resolution designed to provide additional support to senior citizens. Dimaguila clarified that the aid is separate from the PHP 500 monthly pension issued by the national government.

The mayor assured residents that the program would continue even if he is elected as Biñan’s lone district representative in Congress. Vice Mayor Gel Alonte, who is running for mayor, introduced the resolution to support the initiative.

“This program reflects our genuine care for senior citizens and aims to improve their quality of life,” Dimaguila said in a statement.
