Bicol cops seize P6-M worth illegal drugs

By Michelle Ducut

The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) seized illegal drugs valued at PHP6 million during anti-drug operations conducted between October 28 and November 3. A total of 889 grams of shabu and 0.034 grams of marijuana were confiscated across 16 operations, leading to the arrest of 22 individuals linked to the drug trade.

PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon emphasized the importance of dismantling drug supply chains in the region. “We are focused on identifying and targeting the sources of illegal drugs to disrupt the flow into Bicol communities,” he said, adding that the strategy prioritizes human rights while aiming to address the root causes of the drug problem.

The operations highlight ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region, a longstanding issue that authorities continue to address through intensified law enforcement and community engagement.
