Bacolod City prepares for two major lighting ceremonies

Bacolod City will begin its holiday season with two lighting ceremonies at the Bacolod Public Plaza and the Bacolod City Government Center. These events are set to mark the start of the city’s Christmas celebrations.

The first ceremony will take place on December 7, 2024, at the Bacolod City Government Center. The event will feature Christmas decorations and lights across the Government Center grounds. Local performers will also take part, providing musical entertainment for attendees. The event is expected to draw both residents and visitors from nearby areas.

On December 10, 2024, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez will lead the lighting ceremony at the Bacolod Public Plaza. This event will feature lights and displays throughout the Plaza. The ceremony is expected to attract crowds from within Bacolod and surrounding areas.

Both events aim to mark the beginning of the holiday season and are part of the city’s cultural calendar. These ceremonies are intended to bring together locals and visitors in celebration of Christmas.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has supported initiatives to enhance the city’s holiday events and promote tourism. The lighting ceremonies are part of his efforts to foster community engagement and attract tourists to Bacolod during the Christmas season.

The lighting ceremonies at both the Bacolod Public Plaza and the Bacolod City Government Center are expected to be significant events for the city this December.
