The Philippine Army has discharged 8 of the 28 troops under its 10th Infantry Division (ID) who tested positive for illegal drug use last year.

Major Ruben Gadut, 10th ID spokesperson told Sunday Punch that 13 of those who tested positive are still waiting for their discharge order.

The 7 of the troops who belong to the CAFGU Active Auxiliary were also terminated from their service.

On January 2 this year the Philippine Army again conducted a mandatory drug test among its soldiers in Camp General Manuel Yan Station Hospital in Mawab, Davao the Oro which all 326 personnel tested negative for illegal drug use.

Gadut assured that the 10th ID supports the Philippine Army’s anti-narcotics program and is regularly conducting the mandatory drug testing to its personnel.

“This proactive measure underscores the 10ID’s dedication to maintaining a drug-free environment and upholding the highest standards of integrity and discipline,” Gadut said.
