86 Barangays, CSOs attend Q4 2024 Butuan City Development Council meeting

A total of 86 barangays and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) participated in the five-day 4th Quarter 2024 Butuan City Development Council (CDC) Sectoral Working Committee Meeting held at Prince Hotel, Barangay Imadejas, Butuan City.

The meeting, organized by the City Planning and Development Department, focused on the five key development sectors: Institutional Development, Environmental Development, Social Development, Economic Development, and Infrastructure Development. During the session, the local government presented its priority programs and projects spearheaded by Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the discussion of proposed infrastructure projects, particularly road concreting, water systems, and transportation improvements. The barangay heads and CSOs were given an opportunity to provide feedback on these proposed initiatives.

Additionally, the City Planning and Development Department shared the Butuan City Smart City Roadmap, offering the attendees a glimpse of the city’s future direction toward becoming a progressive hub for the next generation.

The event also included a workshop where barangay officials and CSOs shared their ideas and suggestions for crafting the city’s Comprehensive Development Plan for the years 2026 to 2031. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the needs and aspirations of the community are integrated into the city’s long-term development strategy.
