Makati City has successfully administered more than 15, 000 shingles vaccinations to senior citizens and immunocompromised individuals as of October 18, 2024 as part of its health initiatives.
According to the Makati local government unit, it is “focused on raising awareness about the importance of the shingles vaccine” and encouraging more residents to participate. The Makati LGU’s vaccination campaign is part of a larger effort to enhance public health and prevent disease spread in the city. Health officials stress the advantages of vaccination, especially for older adults and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Makati Mayor and senatorial hopeful Abby Binay urged all eligible residents to take advantage of the free vaccination service to safeguard themselves against the serious effects of shingles.
