MANILA – More areas are forecast to get drenched with rain showers Wednesday due to three prevailing weather systems.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its latest forecast that the easterlies and the shear line will bring moderate to heavy rains over Sarangani, South Cotabato, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies are forecast in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen.
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
The rest of Luzon will experience isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon, while the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies.
Meanwhile, Northern and Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
No low-pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation. (PNA)
