MANILA – Three weather systems – the easterlies, the shear line, and the northeast monsoon or “amihan” – will bring rains over some areas in the country on Tuesday.
Northern and Eastern Samar will experience scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Scattered rain showers will also prevail over the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur due to the easterlies.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, and isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA said the rest of the country will get isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast over northern and central Luzon.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.
No low-pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said. (PNA)
