MANILA – Three weather systems will bring rain across the country Monday.
Tropical Depression Romina no longer affects Kalayaan Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
As of 4 a.m., Romina was traced 165 km. west of Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Romina’s trough will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Palawan.
Due to the shear line, the Visayas, Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and the rest of Mimaropa will also experience scattered rains.
PAGASA forecast the northeast monsoon or “amihan” to bring rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija, and isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon.
Mindanao will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas are forecast in northern Luzon, and the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail across the Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northeastern section of Mindanao.
Northern Samar is forecast to experience heavy to intense rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
