3 weather systems affect most of PH on Thursday

MANILA – Most areas in the country will experience rains on Thursday due to three weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The shear line will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Laguna, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz.

Heavy to intense rains are forecast in Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes and Albay.

The shear line will also bring moderate to heavy rains in Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

Scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will prevail over Caraga, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental.

Rains caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Moderate to heavy rains in the aforementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, isolated light rains caused by “amihan” will prevail over the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Strong to gale winds, rough to very rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

The eastern section of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
