The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in Western Visayas seized over PHP2.9 million worth of suspected shabu during a series of anti-drug operations conducted across the region within a 24-hour timeframe, starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The operations, involving various police units, resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals, with Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recording the highest confiscation amounting to PHP1.7 million.

A significant portion of the haul came from Barangay Balabag in Pavia town, where a jobless resident was apprehended with PHP1.36 million worth of suspected shabu. Additionally, the Iloilo City Police Station recovered PHP1.25 million worth of illegal drugs across five separate operations.

PRO-6 Director Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky praised the collaboration among law enforcement agencies and community members in curbing the drug trade in the region.

“These accomplishments are the result of the collective effort of the community, other law enforcement agencies, and the police,” Brig. Gen. Wanky stated.
