Dagupan, 7th best cities in PH, 604th best in Southeast Asia
Dagupan City has once again been recognized for its strong performance, ranking 7th among Philippine cities and 604th in Southeast Asia, according to the 2025 Global Cities Index by Oxford Economics.

In Southeast Asia, Dagupan secured the 604th spot, making it the seventh highest-ranked city in the country. Leading the Philippine representation in the region is Manila at 256th place, followed by Cebu City (436), Cagayan de Oro (487), Davao City (500), Angeles City (502), and Bacolod City (538). Zamboanga City (695) and General Santos City (723) follow Dagupan in the regional rankings.

Among the cities evaluated, Manila, Angeles City, and Dagupan are representatives from Luzon. Cebu City and Bacolod City come from the Visayas, while Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, Zamboanga City, and General Santos City represent Mindanao.

On the global scale, Dagupan ranked 581st out of 1,000 cities, with the following performance across five key categories: Economy (662), Human Capital (563), Quality of Life (775), Environment (245), and Governance (604).

The Global Cities Index measures cities along five dimensions: Economy, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore leads the rankings, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. Globally, New York City tops the list, with London, Paris, San Jose, Seattle, Melbourne, Sydney, Boston, and Tokyo following.

Dagupan’s enhanced position highlights its ongoing advancements in governance and environmental performance, solidifying its status among the region’s emerging urban centers.
