190K Davao households to get 1-day free water access

DAVAO CITY – Over 190, 000 households in Davao City will receive free water access on November 9 as part of the Davao City Water District’s (DCWD) 51st anniversary celebration, DCWD spokesperson Jovana Cresta Duhaylungsod said Monday.

The offer which is available to residents with 1/2-inch water meters requires no registration.

“Our water supply can meet both current and future demand,” Duhaylungsod said in an interview.

Duhaylungsod said the initiative aligns with Water Consciousness Month, featuring events thanking communities, especially those in watershed areas, for supporting water conservation.

DCWD will also lead school and community activities highlighting Davao’s climate-resilient water infrastructure, which ensures sufficient supply amid climate challenges like El Niño.

“In these activities, we will be highlighting the pride of the city because Davao City is enjoying right now what we call the climate-resilient water service,” Duhaylungsod said. (PNA)
