A total of 142 dogs were vaccinated during the Nationwide Simultaneous Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive conducted by the local government of Mangaldan.

The activity was organized by the Municipal Agriculture Office as part of the observance of Rabies Awareness Month every March under Executive Order No. 84.

Records from the agriculture office showed that 93 pet owners participated, with a total of 225 animals vaccinated. Of these, 142 were dogs while 83 were cats.

The vaccination was led by Dr. Wilino C. Zacarias, Veterinarian II, together with staff from the agriculture office to help protect pets and prevent the spread of Rabies in the community.

Local officials emphasized the importance of vaccinating dogs since they are the most common source of rabies transmission to humans. Regular vaccination helps reduce the risk of infection and keeps residents safe.

The program was supported by the administration of Bona Fe de Vera Parayno, mayor of Mangaldan, as part of the town’s continuing health and safety initiatives for residents and their pets.
