1 dead, 3 wounded in gun attack

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan–One person was killed, and three others were wounded in a gun attack by unidentified suspects on Don Macaraeg St., Barangay Pinmaludpod this city on December 16.

Police identified the victims as Ryan Garcia, 39, a ginger vendor at Xentromart; his wife, Mary Anne Garcia, 34; their son, Nash Ian Garcia, 2; and Gerald Aquino, 32, a businessman. All victims are residents of Barangay Pinmaludpod.

Initial investigations revealed that Ryan Garcia, driving a Toyota Veloz, was traveling north with his wife and son when they were shot at by two male suspects riding a motorcycle.

At the same time, an Isuzu truck, also traveling north and driven by Gerald Aquino , was also shot at by the suspects.

As a result of the attack, Ryan, Mary Anne, and Nash Ian Garcia suffered gunshot wounds and were rushed to Divine Mercy Hospital for treatment. Ryan Garcia was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians, while Aquino was taken to Urdaneta District Hospital for medical care.

The suspects fled in a northward direction.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and operations to identify and arrest the suspects, as well as to determine the motive behind the attack.
