The Philippine National Police has opened an all-out manhunt after Barangay Tres de Mayo Captain Oscar โ€œDodongโ€ Bucol Jr. was shot dead while livestreaming on Facebook, a killing that has shocked Digos City and raised alarm nationwide.

PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said investigators have already identified persons of interest, tracing leads from Bucolโ€™s previous social media posts, where he had publicly named individuals he believed were threatening him.

Nartatez has ordered tracker teams across Davao del Sur and neighboring provinces to mobilize immediatelyโ€”coordinating with local authorities, sweeping potential hideouts, and locking down escape routes to ensure the suspects are caught as fast as possible.

The PNP emphasized that the operation follows President Marcosโ€™ standing instruction to resolve violent attacks on local officials with speed and zero hesitation.

A โ‚ฑ2-million reward is now on the table for information leading to the arrest of those involved.

As the search intensifies, police have tightened security in Digos City and urged residents to report anything they know, assuring the community that they are working to prevent further attacks and bring justice to Bucolโ€™s family.
